Chosen Before Time Began

Ephesians 1:4 tells us something astounding: “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him.” Before time began, before the world was created, before you took your first breath—God chose you.

This wasn’t a last-minute decision. It wasn’t a response to something you did or a backup plan when other options failed. God set His love on you from eternity past. You were on His mind before the stars were hung in the sky.

Think about what this means. When God designed the universe, He was thinking of you. When He created humanity in His image, He had you in view. And when sin entered the world and broke everything, God already had a rescue plan—a plan centered on His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus came because the Father, in His great love, sent Him to bring you home as God’s beloved child. On the cross, Jesus made a way for you to be reconciled to God—not as a stranger or a servant, but as a beloved child. Get this – through faith in Christ, you are adopted into God’s family. You belong in Him.

This means you are never forgotten, never overlooked, never an afterthought. God’s love for you isn’t based on your performance or your worthiness. It’s rooted in His unchanging character and His eternal choice to set His affection on you. He delights in you.

When you feel insignificant or unimportant, remember this: the God who created galaxies knows your name. The God who holds the universe in His hands calls you His own. You were chosen before the foundation of the world, and nothing can change that.

You are seen. You are known. You are loved—forever in Christ.
