The Call to Share the Gospel: A Responsibility We Cannot Ignore

In this world, it is easy to get caught up in our own lives and our own pursuits. We may be focused on making money, advancing our careers, or simply trying to get by from day to day. However, it is important to remember that our time on earth is not just about ourselves. We are also called to share the love of Christ and the message of salvation with those around us.

One day, those who have ignored this calling may be confronted with the reality of their inaction. The blind may condemn those with sight for not speaking out against evil. The poor may condemn the rich for not using their wealth to help others. And even those on our social media friend lists may accuse us of sharing everything except the message of Christ.

But it is not too late to change course. We can use the various means at our disposal – whether it be through song, writing, preaching, or social media – to share the good news with others. Jesus himself said that if the people of Chorazin and Bethsaida had seen the mighty works he performed, they would have repented long ago. Imagine the impact we could have if we took the time to share the gospel with those around us.

It is true that we may be busy with the demands of daily life, but let us not forget the power of a single message to change someone’s life. The song, book, sermon, or social media post that encouraged us or imparted our faith may have come from someone who took the time to share it with us. Let us do the same for others, and be a part of leading lost souls to Christ.

PRAYER: “Our Father in heaven, I thank You that You have led me into the light. I thank You for sending a sinner like me a Saviour. I was dead in sin but You persistently sent me Your word through others and I was saved. Today, do the same for my friends and family, those I work with and those I meet. Send Your word through me to them and confirm Your word with signs and wonders that they will believe. Put in my mouth Your word and grant me the confidence to share with others in Jesus name. Amen”
