Imitate God in Love
The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Ephesians, exhorts believers to imitate God in love. He writes, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” (Ephesians 5:1-2)
As Christians, we are called to imitate God in every aspect of our lives, including our love. This means that we must love others as God loves us. God’s love is selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional. He loved us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.
This kind of love is not just an emotion, but it is an action that requires us to put others before ourselves. When we imitate God’s love, we become a living example of Christ’s love for us and a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. When we imitate God’s love, we show others what true love looks like.
PRAYER: Father Lord, help us imitate your love, selfless and sacrificial. Help us love others as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us. Let our love be a fragrant offering to you and a living example of Christ’s love for us. Amen.
